What we publish
We publish one page per product: what it is, what is inside, how to use it, who should check first, and what it costs in Uganda. Every fact on a page comes from a source we can name.
The page follows the pack and the brand's own description. Where we explain what an ingredient does, we rely on public reference works about that ingredient, and we say so.
Sources we use
- The brand's own product description, ingredients list and directions
- Herbal monographs of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and scientific opinions of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
- Reviews on PubMed and in the Cochrane Library, cited for single ingredients and never as proof for a whole product
- Public notices of the National Drug Authority (NDA) and the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS)
How we check facts
Before a page goes live, we compare every number, amount and ingredient with its source. Prices are checked against the price the distributor gives for Uganda.
If the NDA or UNBS issues a warning about a product or an ingredient we list, we add it to the page or take the product off the catalogue.
What you will not find here
- Invented reviews, star ratings or counts of packs sold
- Doctors, celebrities or experts who do not exist
- Old prices crossed out, countdown timers or "only 3 left" messages
- Promises that a product cures a disease
How pages are updated
Each page shows the date it was last updated. We review a page when the brand changes the ingredients or the directions, when the price changes, or when a reader points out a mistake.
Health information and mistakes
Our pages describe products. They do not diagnose anything. If your joints swell, turn red and hot, or hurt at night without a reason you know, see a doctor rather than choosing a product yourself.
Found a mistake? Write to the email address in the footer with the page and the line in question. We check it against the source and correct the page.
